a wood whatchamacallit....

I had made plans to go flea marketing on Sat and Sun, but as usual in NE Ohio we had nothing but rain on both days, so my plans were washed away....lol.... I opted to go to a local antique mall instead and found what to me was one of my best finds ever.
Stuck leaning against the wall in a booth was this amazing wood piece. My heart literally started racing when I saw it because visions of altering it went flying thru my head.
Then I reached down and turned it over and saw this and let out a squeal of utter delight!! The possiblilities of what I could do just now became endless.
I reached for the tag to see what this unique piece actually was and the tag read "wood whatchamacallit", not really a big help...lol.... but it didn't matter what it was ,it was going to be mine! My hubby thinks it was some kind of industrial mold, but I think it is going to be an amazing foundation on which to create!!
I guess I have to a reason to be thankful for rainy day weekends!

Can't wait! The pieces that have you thinking of eight projects at once are the best!

I know it will be outstanding....how do I know that? Because everything you make is outstanding!

Cheryl... You have such a great "eye" for taking something quite ordinary, and turning it into a piece of art that is extraordinary! Can't wait to see this "become" a treasure! And I smiled so, at your April post about old, discarded, ("scary") dolls... I made a primitive folk art angel years ago; our daughters STILL refer to it as the "demon doll of Addison!" Tsk...Tsk!
