Take a hike

One of my son's and mine favorite activities is hiking on the many trails of the metro park system. Lace up your sneakers and join us for a little 1.6 mile hike we just took. First we start off in a heavily wooded area, lots of cooling shade and the sound of birds chirping and little critters scurrying about.

Stop and take a break by the pond

Head off into the fields of cattails

Don't step on the dragonfly!

Listen to the bullfrogs croak near the marsh

Finish up back in the woods, say goodbye to the little birds til next time.
