A rare occurence

I have 2 cats Riley (he is black) and Maggie (she is gray) that are always at odds with each other. Today there was a moment of peace while they both shared a spot on their favorite cushion. Riley even shared his favorite white mouse with Maggie. Did this peace last, alas it did not, but I enjoyed it for the few minutes it did!

My new friend

Sorry I have been away from blogland for a while, but I caught that nasty flu bug that is going around and it has knocked me for a loop! After a couple of weeks I am now starting to feel almost back to normal (or as close to normal as I will ever be...lol..)

While recuperating I won my very first giveaway ever! Tina at tinybear sent me this adorable little bear named Miss Libbit. I cannot believe my luck that I won this amazingly sweet little bear. She definitely brightened my day and I just want to thank Tina for letting her come and live with me. She is such a talented artist and I am so honored to have a piece of her work in my home. Thank you so very much Tina!! Just look at this sweet face.........
Well, I thought she looked a little lonely so I dressed her up with a little bow pin and set her in a little tart tin and put her next to my favorite dolly so that she will have a friend to talk to! I hear them chatting away all the time!!

Another birthday wish

I have another important birthday wish to share and that is for my daughter Callie who turns 21 today! I have been battling the flu and missed out on her celebration last night but I hope that we can celebrate together as soon as I am feeling better.

I can't believe my sweet little girl has made it to such an important milestone birthday. Where have the past 21 years gone! I have been so blessed to be able to be her mother, life has not always been easy for her but she is such a strong woman who perserveres and her smile just melts my heart every time I see it.

So Happy 21st Birthday to my little CayCay!

Birthday Wishes

14 years ago today my baby boy was born. So today I wanted to wish him a very special Happy Birthday.

Whenever I read part of the poem Life Sculpture by William Doane, I always think of my son Wyatt so I thought I would share those words:

Chisel in hand stood a sculptor boy

With his marble block before him,

And his eyes lit up with a smile of joy,

As an angel-dream passed o'er him.

He carved the dream on that shapeless stone,

With many a sharl incision:

With heaven's own light the sculpture shone -

He'd caught that angel-vision.

Antique show finds

Saturday my son and I attended an antique show in Canton Oh and I was lucky enough to find a few things, some great photos and tintypes A couple of old school books, some metal pieces

a great little fabric coin purse and bits of jewelry, all in all a good day!

The wonderful Country Living Fair

I am back after 4 days spent in Columbus at the Country Living Fair. It was such a great experience and I was so lucky to meet so many wonderful people.
