Family

My love of old photos began when I was a young girl and would spend the night with my great-grandma. She would bring out all these old pics of family and would tell me who they were and stories about the people in her life back then. She was one of 11 children so there were many photos and many stories to tell!
I am so lucky to have been the recipient of some of these photos and proudly display them in my home. I miss my great-grandma so much but at least I can see her everyday. The only color photo displayed is one of me as a baby on her lap, it is one of my faves along with the pics of my mom when she was young.

Cheryl, I love how you framed your vintage family photos. They're my favorite too. Even non-family - I get so excited when I find a box of old cabinet cards in vintage shops.

Cheryl... what a wonderful tribute to your family. AND of course i LOVE the way you displayed the pictures with such thought and care. I don't have any pictures of my relatives and SHOULD see if my mom could part with a few. Thanks for sharing the story of your great grandma. I was especially close to my maternal grandma who lived with us. I learned so much from her and think of her almost daily. My mom has a wonderful picture of her as a little girl sitting in a little pony cart. I love how old photos connect us to not only our relatives but to the past. My Dad always sent me a subscription to Reminisce magazine (which my mom continues}. I shared his love of the past and the stories of how people lived their day to day lives. I still can't wait every other month for my magazine to arrive. :) Lotsa hugs, Amy

PS LOVE the little doll in the picture.:)
