I found this sweet little stained linen dress.......
An assortment of rusty, grungy tins....just like I like them!
A couple of books, photos, a wood box, cigar box, wooden ruler and an empty glass paperweight.....
And then finally the piece that made it all worthwhile, this sweet, flower covered hat!! So much for my plans to hit the antique mother-lode, but I was content to find these few great pieces and already have ideas of what I can create with them.

We also stopped at the Louisville Zoo on the way home, where I took a ton of pics. I just love photographing animals. I thought I would share my very fav of this sweet little meerkat.
I just know this is a meerkat mama that was up all night with her little babies and then spent the morning chasing after her older children and finally found one minute in the day where she could sit for a minute and catch her breath!! (or it was a male meerkat that found a good spot to observe his female partner do all the things I just described.....LOL.....)

It is one of the most disappointing this to find literature that is OUTDATED about the Antique Shoppes that are around the area.
Yes, Tues..they should be open in the SUMMER especially... on a Tues. for sure.
But yes, you did find some treasures...we all love our special finds don't we ?

It makes me sad that the antique shops were few and then closed! But you seemed to have found some beautiful items at the ones that were open. I love the baby dress and the bonnet is super wonderful too!
Now what I think is really great is that your hubby and son go with you! I couldn't get mine to do that in a month of sundays! No way!
The little meerkat is sweet. It looks a little like you cought him or her in mid sigh...
oh, MY!!! that hat is amazing Cheryl...it looks like it is covered in oodles of millinery...what a bummer that most of the shops were closed...you still managed to find some cool things...so not a total waste...one of my favorite shops is closed on wednesday...what's up with that???
Great Finds! I am headed out the door this morning to an estate sale that advertises old tins, signage and paper ads.....we will see:D
That is a bummer and one I've experienced more than once. But on a Tuesday?!?!?! Monday, sure see it often enough, but never a Tuesday. I am so sorry as I understand the disappointment. Still at least you did find some things and two of the stores were open. But I must say, the hat, THE HAT omg!!!! What an incredible hat!
Purrs hoping your next shopping trip finds more open stores....

Sounds like you were in Shelbyville if you were by Louisville. Am I guessing right? My daughter lives in Lexington so I have gone that way many, many times. xo Joan@anythinggoeshere
Love the treasure you found in Kentucky. One of my favorite things to do is hunt for antiques. You did very well. You captured that meerkat mama beautifully. Sea witch
I'm so glad some of them were still there! It is so disappointing to see the "closed" signs. You still got some treasures, and that, at the end of the day, always makes us happy. xo Lidy
Wonderful treasures. Love the dress
