I just ordered this amazing book from Amazon today and can't wait to see it up close and in person! Mark Mothersbaugh is one of the founding members of the group Devo and an all around talented person. This book is a collection of "images pulled from man's past... then corrected into sickeningly beautiful beings. A study of humans via symmetry using photos both recent & vintage." I love this unique twist on using old photos like the ones that I love so much.

Flying thru the air
Tomorrow my family and I will be going to see the Peking Acrobats at the Akron Civic Theatre. I am excited to see the show as I have heard that they are truly amazing to watch. Plus the theatre itself is a sight to see. It has a painted ceiling that reflects a night sky full of clouds and stars with elaborate scenery and props. It really is a magical experience and I can't wait to see the acrobats perform in this beautiful setting.

Artist Extraordinaire
My pal Amy Dabbs is one of my favorite artists and so talented that if she wasn't such a sweetie, i would be totally jealous of her! I don't think there is any medium that she doesn't excel at, she works with fabric, paint, canvas, found objects and more. Everytime I look at one of her pieces that I own or see on her blog or Etsy site, i have to take a moment and smile. They invoke feelings of whimsy and joy, and make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside!.....
I am lucky enough to own 5 of her dolls, and the one in the above photo is my fave. I also own the wonderful painting attached to the wood tray with all the fun embellishments added. The other pics are some of her current work. I defy anyone to look at them and not go "ahhh, how sweet"!.........
To see more of her amazing pieces, take a look at her Etsy shop http://www.fairiehearth.etsy.com/ she only has a few pieces available right now but check back often to get the chance to have one of her special creations in your home! Also check out her blog...roses, radishes and rubbish..the link to it is in my blog list.
I look forward to seeing how she continues to grow and flourish as an artist.Monday, February 16, 2009
Antiquing finds
My mom and I went to the Olde Stark Antique Faire yesterday and of course I forgot to bring my camera! It was held in the exhibition hall at the fairgrounds and it was packed to the gills with venders. We had lots of fun looking and above are the goodies that I found. I am in flea market withdrawal though and cannot wait for Spring to come to get back outside and so some serious searching among piles of junk!

I'm addicted!!
Help, my addiction is taken over! I love. love, love Reese's Valentine Hearts but my hips, thighs and tummy don't feel the same way. I don't care much for regular peanut butter cups but there is something so delicious and addictive about the Reese's hearts, christmas trees, pumpkins and easter eggs..... yes my calendar revolves around whatever holiday shape they are currently in...lol.... Is it wrong to want to eat them for every meal of the day, i mean there are peanuts in them which are a good source of protein and everyone knows that chocolate is good for your heart, it's like nature's perfect food.....or that is what i tell myself everytime I break down and eat one. At least once Easter is over they won't reappear until Halloween, just enough time for me to check into Reese's Rehab!
