As I was out in the yard this morning I noticed that most of my flowers blooming were purple. What beautiful and different shades there are! While out there the blimp decided to take off, we live about a mile from where it docks, so I thought I would include a pic of it. Someday when I am brave enough I want to take a ride in it, but so far that day has not come...lol....

A beautiful work of art

I came across this piece on Etsy and was struck by the beauty of it. It is attached to a wood bottle crate. What a clever and amazing canvas to create a work of art on! To see more of the artist's work please visit her here

Family
My love of old photos began when I was a young girl and would spend the night with my great-grandma. She would bring out all these old pics of family and would tell me who they were and stories about the people in her life back then. She was one of 11 children so there were many photos and many stories to tell!
I am so lucky to have been the recipient of some of these photos and proudly display them in my home. I miss my great-grandma so much but at least I can see her everyday. The only color photo displayed is one of me as a baby on her lap, it is one of my faves along with the pics of my mom when she was young.

What is it??
I found this wonderful piece a few years ago at an antique shop and still have not been able to find out exactly what it is. At first it looks like a crystal ball but the bottom of the glass ball is open and there is a slit at the top. My guess is some kind of a lamp with the slit for the hot air to escape, let me know what you think it could be!! Whatever it is, i just love it!

A new porch
Thank goodness the rain has left and we can get back to working on our new front porch! My hubby has been working so hard on building our new porch so I thought I would post some pics of his work in progress. He just started putting a coat of white primer on when the lousy weather hit... I can't wait to see it painted and to find some wonderful furniture to put out there. I would love to have either a porch swing or an old metal glider.....hopefully I can find one on my flea market travels!!!
