Fabulous finds

Hubby and I headed out today to Rogers Flea Market in Roger's OH (with a stop at antique shop too).

At the " Dollar Land" booth I snatched up all these wonderful collars and trims for $1 a piece! Oh how I wish every space could be dollar land!!!!!

I found these great glass paper weights that I plan on taking apart and filling up with all kinds of goodies.
I was on the hunt for some millinery flowers and could only find this sweet velvet bunch along with some photos....these women don't know it yet but next month they will be turned into glorious witches for Halloween...ssh, don't tell and spoil their transformations! I think the gentleman will make a handsome warlock, don't you?

Of course it is not a flea market experience for me unless I find some nice rusty junk and tins...

I found a big pile of buttons, they always come in handy for creating

This piece will join my collection of vintage Niagara Falls items, made even more special since my hubby bought it for me.

DISCLAIMER : those who do not like creepy old dolls might want to skip the next couple of pics... ....I was struck at first by their rough condition but then Michael DeMeng popped into my head and said they would make some great creations once they were Demengified ,so to honor him I will do my best to accomplish that (any time I hear his voice in my head, I obey it....LOL.....)

that is this little one doesn't put a hex on me first!!

can you say CREEPY?!?!?!?!?!?

Oh my word!! Some of the best finds I have ever seen! The dolls are to die for - I am so envious. Can't wait to see what you do to them (I don't think you can actually make them any more scarier than they are!). What ever it is I know it will be amazing - your work always is!

The last pic looks like a zombie baby lol..Look forward to seeing him fixed up.
I collect "creepy" old dolls myself...some of my favourites..the vintage looking porcelain type...everyone here hates. Oh well no one here will try and claim them for their own then hahaha
Congrats on all your wonderful finds :D

Cheryl,
Not creeped out in the least, I think I have a wicked side that loves the unusual. I can so see that doll head in some goth style assemblage. You really scored some goodies. I always drool when I see what you've hauled back from one of your digs. Lisa

I don't think creepy either, well maybe a wee bit...that large one. You did great I would say. I can't believe you found the linen pieces for 1 dollar each. Boy I live in the wrong part of the country. Can't wait to see what you do with the doll head, that one...the big one....lol

Cheryl,
your dollar finds are fantastic, and so are the paperweights, what a lucky find.
Your dolls are maybe creepy, but also kind of beautifull, only little mistreated dolls, that will now be wonderfull pieces of art.
Wishing you a lovely sunday.
Hugs, Dorthe

Yep! The dolls are creepy, but a lot of people seem to like them. I have done several paperweights in the past. What really makes them cool is if you put a few loose things in before you seal it up. People will spend a lot of time shaking it up to see what all is in there. Ex.: tiny buttons, tiny beads, tiny dice, watch parts, sequins, just really small bits that go with your theme. I even punched out (use a 1/4" paper punch) bits from papers or tags to put in there.

Would love to see what you do with them.
