Altering Time

Well, I finally finished up 5 of the clock pieces that I have been hard at work on! I have so much fun working with the wood clock cases, to me they are a perfect canvas on which to create. Luckily, I still have a few more to work with!

For this one, instead of creating something inside the opening, I added everything to the case itself. I loved the clock workings and added them to the front .
Love this poem!

I got to use one of my new tintypes that I bought a couple of weeks ago.

This one turned out to be one of my all-time favs. I think I will have to hold on to this one for awhile as it will be hard for me to let go! I love the case and the photo of these to sweet babies.

I wonder if these were fraternal twins or maybe they were not related at all.

I was able to use sea shell on this one, I just love digging thru my collection and picking the best ones to use.

I finally found a use for some of my old square nails, they kind of remind me of spokes on a ship's wheel.

This is another fav , plus it is a real working clock, i love using the old wheels too, this way time will keep rolling on....

yeah, more tintypes and a beautiful poem too...

This is the smallest of the cases, the carving on the wood is so pretty, I did not want to cover it too much.

What a perfect family in a perfect little home!

Cheryl, I'm so impressed! You did these already?! I LOVE them! You put so much love and tenderness in them, even using rugged and rough old things, the tenderness shows through. Your work is so special-It really speaks to me. Now I want to find some old clock parts and see what I can do.

Truly amazing pieces Cheryl. I am amazed how you pull your pieces together with just the right poetry and little touches such as the sea shells and bits of lace and buttons. Your art is so unique and really makes my heart dance. Of course, I hope you know how much I love you AND your art!!:) xo

you are absolutely fantastical! if that is how you spell it. it must be such a pleasure to work on these as each turns out so different and it is probably a surprise even for you. mother's day is coming and i may have to give up the little tin i purchased from you and give it to my mother. the one with the lady with a boy. the poem goes like this, out in her cheek's fair roses you see; God made a wonderful mother, and He gave that dear mother to me. i hate to do it, but it is perfect for mother's day. Bestest,Denise

Hi Cheryl,
I have long admired your art, and all you shows here, are just fantastic.
I love the romantic with the rough, and worn pieces, and think you are a master in this kind of mixed media. They are gorgeus.
