He loves me, he loves me not.......

With Valentines Day approaching I wanted to get into that romantic spirit and create some pieces that celebrate love. I love romantic poetry and it always inspires me to create a visual to go along with it.

I hope that all my ladies are happy with the gentlemen that I have paired them up with, I tried to pick the most handsome of the lot!
This is my favorite piece, I love the muted color of the old photo album cover.

This piece was made in an old vintage toffee candy tin, maybe some lucky lady received it from their sweetie on Valentine's Day.

Is he not the most dapper of gentlemen?? I love his eyewear and his attire.

I found these 2 wonderful fabrics with birds on them and just had to create something with them even though the fabric was not vintage. Fabric was always my first love and it is fun to work with again and to get to use needle and thread.

Rusted and reborn

It's a new year and time to get back to creating some new work! I had a yearning to work with the rustiest pieces of "junk" I could find and give them a new life. These creations are what I came up with.
This is one of my favorite tintypes, I love the black lines running thru it, to me it makes it much more interesting.

After I completed this piece I went to stand it up and it fell face down because of the weight of everything I had added to the front. So after much deliberation I came up with the solution of adding this heavy metal piece to the back and voila it balanced it out so that it stands!

I think this piece the girls are in was an old toaster, but I could be wrong. I just loved the shape of it.

I finally found a use for this old rusty coffee can and love the addition of a piece of lace given to me by the wonderful Laura of 52Flea!

I think this is my favorite rusty one. I even found a tintype with rust on it, just perfect for this piece.
